Communication and exchange are crucial to transatlantic alumni work. With this object in mind, the DAZ Stuttgart invited the major German-American alumni associations to a networking and strategy meeting. We gladly took this opportunity to meet and exchange ideas, challenges, and prospects with representatives from PPP Alumni, VDAC Alumni and Initiative junger Transatlantiker within an informal setting.
During the half day session, including workshops and a shared lunch, it soon became apparent that we have common goals – fostering the German-American dialogue – more or less similar strategic concepts and organizational structures and sometimes even face the same challenges. In this context, it was very helpful to have an exchange of experiences and best practices concerning various issues, be it social media or member data administration, and to learn from each other.
We also discussed how to intensify the cooperation with the strong network of the German-American Institutes throughout Germany and to benefit from each other’s capabilities and infrastructure.
