We are thrilled to invite you to the German Fulbright Alumni Association’s annual Welcome Meeting. Organized this year in partnership with the German Fulbright Commission and hosted by the Deutsches Amerikanisches Institut of Sachsen in Leipzig, we hope the event serves as a warm welcome for you into our Fulbright community. Register here.
The weekend’s activities are designed to connect you with Fulbrighters throughout Germany–both returning German Grantees as well as current U.S. American ones – giving you the opportunity to share your experiences, socialize, and build ties within the Fulbright community.
We’ll kick the weekend off with an informal get-together on Friday night at the restaurant Wenzel. Saturday will feature an official welcome, guest speakers, networking, and the chance to participate in your own (Un)Conference based on the weekend’s theme of “Pursuing Our Social Conscience.” The day’s activities will be concluded with dinner and drinks at one of Leipzig’s historic restaurants, Auerbachs Keller. A Sunday morning brunch at Barfusz will provide more opportunities to socialize and will be followed by your choice of a city walking tour or a visit to Leipzig’s Bach Museum.
Through the generous support of the Fulbright Commission we will be able to cover most of the expenses for current returnees and current US grantees. This includes accommodation (in a shared room at Marriott Hotel Leipzig), all meals, the Sunday activities as well as a potential support of travel expenses to Leipzig. Further details with respect to venues and times will be provided at a later date.
For all other participants there is a small registration fee. The costs associated with the weekend (travel, accommodation, food etc.) will not be covered (except lunch on Saturday). Details can be found in the registration form.
Registration via this survey expires on September 30th.
We look forward to welcoming you in Leipzig!
